SupportformemorycardsisoneofthemanyadvantagesofAndroidoverApple’siOScompetitive.TheGoogleofmultipleversionsbackcouldmanagematerialsaccumulatedonthemicroSDcard.Thisalloweduserstoextendthecapacityofthedeviceatlowcostcomparedtobuyingthephoneformorediskspace.

Fordevelopersdeviceswastheabilitytoreduceproductioncostsbyputtinginsmartphoneswithlowandmediumpricedlessmemory.Extendingittothelevelrequiredbytheuseralreadylayinthehandsofthecustomer.Unfortunately,withtheupdatetoAndroid4.4KitKataccesstothedataonthememorycardhasbeensignificantlyeroded.
