Last Android version numbered 4.4 debuted on the market almost three months ago. The condition of this system should improve with each passing day, but unfortunately this is not happening. Does Google have a serious problem?
KitKat further highlighted the biggest shortcoming of Android – fragmentation. According to Google, the latest version is installed on only 1.8 percent. all Android devices that log into Google Play Store. This result was achieved mainly by models of the Nexus, and the latest copies of Motorola.
In early January, the Android 4.4 was installed on 1.4 percent. all devices. It can be seen, therefore, a slight improvement. Certainly this is not a result that satisfies Google.
Why is so little popularity of the latest Android? First of all, the fact that manufacturers need to work closely with Google during dewelopingu new version of the system. This process is extended even more, if we consider the acceptance of coercion updated by the operator (in the case of branded phones). For example, the Polish owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 only a month ago received a system update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.Recent statistics show that currently the most popular version of Android Jelly Bean is 4.1.x (35.5 per cent. All devices) and outdated Gingerbread (20 percent.), which very well demonstrates the overall health of the system.
