Sony will allow its users to take advantage of the pure form of AOSP Android. This is a result of the agreement, which was concluded with a group of developers FXP little over three years ago. Sony announces that it will open the source files for the considerably larger number of devices than it has so far. Users will be able to benefit from the software built by themselves or files prepared by a group FXP.
Some time ago, Sony has included in its ranks Alina Jerpeleę – FXP group leader. Its task is to oversee the company AOSP program that Sony is developing a number of years. The first device whose sources have been released, was the smartphone Xperia S. So far, Sony has provided a source for the five devices: Xperia S, Xperia Z, ZL Xperia, Xperia Xperia Tablet L and Z. According to the announcement Alina Jerpelei, who spoke at the conference xda: devcon in Manchester, Sony plans to make available the source not only for flagowców, but most of the marketed devices. This may mean making the files needed to build pure Android for several devices already issued.
This is good news especially for users so. custom roms, or unofficial version of the software created by developers gathered at the thematic forums. Sony recognized the contribution of developers – amateurs in software development. Contributions can be found for example. System in the nuclei used in mobile. The task Jerpelei also create guides for beginners who can help in the future development of Android.
Sony is one of the few manufacturers that provides the source files for their devices. On a similar step has also decided to Motorola. However, this is a direct result of collaboration with Google. The files also provide producers, working with CyanogenMod Inc..
It remains impatiently wait for the introduction of plans in life. AOSP is an interesting alternative to the often extremely cluttered software manufacturers. The first results of these predictions should be felt soon.
