fell after David Willis responsible for Gartner’s research in the field of communication and mobile technologies to Schmidt said: “Many people in the audience would say that Google is not their main platform [...] When it comes to Android, people say Android is not yet safe. “

Schmidt

answer was immediate: “It is not safe? There is more secure than the iPhone.”

implacable audience responded to this sentence burst of laughter. (In fact, there is nothing to be surprised looking at the statistics. On Android arises much more malware than competing platforms.)

former CEO of Google does not deign to directly explain the basis on which such claims. He added only that the system has more than one billion users and and is now on the market for some time, so naturally goes through rigorous safety tests …

When the second issue has been addressed, for which Android has been criticized – the fragmentation of the system – evasively replied, pointing to a unified Google Play Store for all versions of Android, and completely ignores the issue of security.

Although Google is not responsible for updating their system on devices from different manufacturers (outside the Nexus line), the lack of effective pressure on the manufacturers of smartphones and tablets with Android is quite disturbing. By
