Minicomputer resembles the classic network player HIMEDIA HD900, retains all the unique advantages of the Q5 model II, but thanks to new high-performance processor 3798M HiSilicon fully supports 4K resolution – decode 4K videos in H.265 format and provides the image in full resolution for the HDMI output.
Codec H.265 (also known as HEVC – High Efficiency Video Codec) is a new, very efficient, but also very demanding video coding system, created for the image in the ultra-high resolution 4K. Video recorded in H.265 takes up about half the space than recorded in forming the current H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC). H.265 is the format of the future, and HIMEDIA Q3 Quad supports it today.
HIMEDIA Q3 Quad has 1 GB of fast DDR3 RAM and 8 GB of internal flash memory. From the network connects to a wired Ethernet port or wirelessly via WiFi. Two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 to connect an external USB storage and peripherals. The memory can also be expanded by placing the reader SD or MMC card. In addition to the HDMI output, the device also has analog video output (composite) connections with older TVs, as well as additional audio output: analog stereo RCA and digital optical S / PDIF.
HIMEDIA Q3 Quad supports XBMC / Kodi – multifunctional home entertainment center, allowing you to play movies, music and photos from indigenous resources, network drives, and a huge number of free channels online. Among the applications that can be installed on XBMC, there are various extras “TV” in the TV program, games, interesting television and radio services, as well as dozens of other facilities known to fans of the software. The network is also available impressive number of plugins allow to personalize the player – the look, the list of free channels, radio and web TV. IPTV channels are clearly the future of home entertainment, which today can be used via the player with XBMC. There are, among others, iplaTV plug, TVN Player, TVP VOD MuchMovies, Icefilms and many others with access to the latest film production and the ability to capture the fly Polish inscriptions from sites with subtitles. A unique feature of the Q3 Quad HIMEDIA service is DTS and DD 5.1 passthrough in XBMC application / Kodi.
Free apps HiControl and HiShare that users can install on their smartphones or tablets, allow remote control of the player (even without the need to turn on the TV) and streaming videos, music and photos directly to Q3 Quad, without cables.
