Is Gear Live is the first and last SmartWatch Samsung uses platform Android Wear? Korean manufacturer claims that it does not intend to resign from the Google platform for wearables.
Service Fast Company reported that Samsung intends to resign from the intended primarily for “smart” watches platform Android Wear. Korean manufacturer would focus exclusively on its platform – Tizen OS – which is also used in devices such as Smart TV, or “smart” refrigerator. The reason for such a decision would be, among others, superiority platform Tizen over the Wear in terms of energy management (working time is an extremely important parameter for smartwatchy).
Samsung denies
In response to these reports Samsung issued a statement in which he writes that it announced the resignation of Android Wear and did not change any obligations in relation to the currently used platforms.

it should be recalled here that the Korean manufacturer has introduced only one device using the Android Wear: SmartWatch Gear Live. This took place two years ago, and that the gadget is no longer manufactured. All subsequent Smartwatch Samsung – models of Galaxy Gear, Gear 2 Gear S and Gear S2 – use this system with Tizen.
Despite the declaration Samsung can not help noticing that in his case the platform Android Wear is now “dead” . But maybe that will change, because the last I / O conference, Google announced Android Wear 2.0, which is the biggest update to the operating system for wearables (ie. The device ubieralne) in 2014, which will bring together, among others, following the changes:
– the placing on the dial widgets from any application
– the action based on independent applications (SmartWatch will not need pairing with a smartphone)
– add handwriting recognition drawn finger on the watch face
they make especially the second one, that the platform Android Wear will become much more attractive to users. Is Samsung is able to ensure that the Tizen OS not only will not come off from it, but it will be better? Hmm, it’s hard to be achieved …
