independent testing laboratory AV-Test specializing in testing security software, conducted a test lasting four weeks 30 mobile protective programs intended to present the most popular Android platform. Which programs are worth attention, and which disappointed?
While on almost all the January test, the experts at AV-Test tested the effectiveness of the programs in the detection of malicious code attacking smartphones and tablets operating under the control of Google’s mobile system, and more specifically Android version 4.3. In addition, subject to assessment testing application functionality, ease of configuration settings and their flexibility, impact test tools on the performance of the protected device and the number of generated false alarms in cases where harmless code was blocked as malicious.
Of 30 only two applications have not received AV-Test certificate. These were: SPAMfighter PRO VIRUSfighter Android and Zoner Mobile Security.
VIRUSfighter Android PRO (its interface visible in these shots) killed primarily for testing the efficiency of detection of malicious code. Among the reference sample more than 2,000 malicious codes, the program detected only 36.1%, which is the result of completely disqualifying. Another program that has not earned a certificate AV-Test was Zoner tool called Mobile Security (measuring 1.1 version of the program).
