CES 2015: Android TV on the offensive – PC World

Google has decided to re-enter the TV market. This time, however, the new platform Android TV is a much better deal than Google TV.

In 2010, Google announced Google TV platform, which, as over time it turned out, was not recognized in the eyes of TV manufacturers. In mid-2014, however, the Internet giant has confirmed that he will not let go of this part of the market and announced a new platform – Android TV. Currently, it is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and may be used by TVs, set-top-box, and external USB snap.

Ongoing CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas confirmed that the US the company has worked hard over the platform Android TV convincing her several manufacturers. Sony, Sharp and TP-Vision (TVs Philips) presented for new lines using the TV. It should be noted, however, that the last of them already give priority to Android.
