According to the Wall Street Journal Google is developing for the Audi special version of Android, which will be installed in cars and allow the driver and passengers to “run various applications similar to those known from smartphones.”
Google then decided to compete on the field with Apple that seven months ago announced the appearance of iOS in cars. Apple’s solution is integrated with iPhones and used to using maps, news, and other applications. Such solutions are already using General Motors, Ferrari, Honda, and Mercedes-Benz.
Audi has already won experiments with multimedia systems based on Tegra systems.
WSJ writes that the collaboration of Google and Audi will take several years. It promises to be the fact that this market segment will be another “front war” between Apple and Google.
