Android strengthens its position in the smartphone market – FrazPC.pl

IDC has published new data on the smartphone market, which traditionally provide us with information about the sale of “smart” phones in the last quarter. And so, in the second quarter of this year, the market hit a record number of smartphones exceeding 300 million devices.

As for individual systems, it definitely dominates here Android , which already has 84.7% market share, while the second iOS controls 11.7%. It is worth noting that both Apple’s system and Windows Phone recorded declines, of course, “at the expense of the” OS from Google. It is hardly surprising, especially considering that, according to IDC almost 60% of Android smartphones that hit the market, the outfits costing less than $ 200 (a segment in which Apple did not compete, and Windows Phone just preparing for expansion). It should be stressed, however, that Apple, unlike Microsoft has increased in this period its sales.

Unfortunately, the situation in the case of the Canadian BlackBerry looks very bad and that the manufacturer has only 0.5% market share and its sales during the year fell by 78%.
