The program not only shows the way in unfamiliar territory, but will also read addresses, telephone numbers and opening hours of shops, businesses and service providers. The application will simply copy the portion of the map to the device memory, and it is, at the request of the user, will show the details. According to Google, this solution is cheaper for tourists that are outside your home network and the Internet in poorer countries where data transfer is expensive.
According to the critics, the new system will, however, consume a lot of memory, which can be troublesome especially for basic models of smartphones. In the off-line version, some functions are disabled – are not displayed, for example, customer reviews shops and restaurants.
The latest version will be soon available on devices running Apple’s iOS operating.
