Android "scooped" 99.9% of all new mobile threats - PC World

The latest report from Kaspersky Lab shows that 99.9% of new mobile threats have been made for users of Android.

Company Kaspersky Lab has published a new report on threats to the mobile market. It covers the first quarter of this year and provide the following information:

– Kaspersky Lab has detected more than 20,000 new “modified mobile malicious code ” (the entire previous year, there were “only” 40 059)

– 63% of all infections were related to Trojans

– up 99.9% of new malware detected were created with a view to the Android platform

– more than 91 % threats “delivered” was through malicious links

– most threats come from the U.S. (25%), Russia (19%) and the Netherlands (14%)

According to these data that competitive platforms such as iOS and Windows Phone are almost devoid of risks. Furthermore, we read in the report that the security Android significantly reduces the ability to download applications from a variety of shops and fragmentation, which confirm last data Google (currently still the most popular version of this system is Gingerbread).
