Gartner: OS X and iOS in 2015 ahead of Windows, and Android already ... - Techworld

Gartner provides – in 2015 users will buy more devices running Microsoft OS X and iOS (Apple) than in control all flavors of Windows (including Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows phone). This means that Windows will be dethroned after 13 years from the time when Steve Jobs invented the Apple brand again presented the iPod and started a whole new era – the era of mobility.

An even better result will soon be able to boast of the Android system. Analysts say in fact that this year the Android obtain a better result than that reached all operating systems Apple and Microsoft. Gartner says, in 2012, bought the 347 million users of devices with Windows and the 213 million working under control of OS X and iOS (a difference of 134 million).

Gartner also foresees that in 2014 the difference (the in favor of Windows) will drop to 23 million, but in Windows 2015 box will be beaten. When it comes to the consumer market, the Apple software today sells better than Microsoft. General Windows systems ahead of OS X and iOS, because better results on the market “enterprise”.

This year, users will buy 867 million Android devices and 636 million Apple and Windows devices. Mainly due to the growing popularity of tablets and smartphones. Gartner predicts that the supply of tablets will grow from 120 million units in 2012 to 276 million units in 2014, at the same time, sales of smartphones will grow from 1.7 billion units to 1.9 billion units.

Turnover in the market and the PCs will still fall – according to Gartner, about 11% this year and 5% next year. In summary Gartner states: users bought in 2012 a total of 2.2 billion units this year will buy 2.3 billion and in 2014 it will be the 2.5 billion units.
