BlackBerry is currently intensively working on a new smartphone. Prague model will work under the supervision of a representative of Android and will be low-priced. On store shelves is slated for release in August. Probably this smartphone is a prelude to the new strategy the Canadian company, which will focus on Android.
Shares of BlackBerry smartphones on the market fell below 1%. The company can not cope with fierce competition, even in the segment of business devices, as well as recent models of Canadians were chosen by millions of people. BlackBerry finally decided to make a brave step and try their hand in the world of Android devices. However, this does not necessarily mean success, the market is already filled with hundreds of different models, and the BlackBerry logo no longer the same attention as before.

The new model is currently being tested and is called Prague. Interestingly, it has to be representative of the low-price segment. We expected rather that Canadians hit the top FPS device, showing a worthy opponent for Samsung Galaxy S6 or HTC One M9. However, the company has chosen a different strategy, at least in the case of the first smartphone with Android. It’s difficult to judge the decision, but stand out against hundreds of cheap models with green little robot will be really difficult. In addition, the Canadian manufacturer will have to fight with the Chinese smartphones, which offer a low price really good specification.
But perhaps a better solution would be to place only at the top FPS device for demanding clients. BlackBerry in this segment could become a strong player, creating a model similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note in the series, but with a physical keyboard. That such devices are currently lacking, and the Canadian producer with its extensive experience in smartphones for business, ideally would fill this niche. Of course this is just speculation, and additionally successor models of BlackBerry can most be like this, the top levels smartphones.
The first BlackBerry smartphone with Android would appear as early as August this year, so a couple of months before the highly anticipated for a long time slider Venice.
