Slowly newer versions of Android are gaining greater market share, while older fall into oblivion – at least as it should be. Now Google, as every month, has provided a detailed report of the popularity of particular variants of their OS on mobile devices. The last few weeks were a lollipop, although KitKat still holds up very well.

Two months ago, the Android Lollipop (5.0 + 5.1) had a 18.6% market share, and now boasts result of 23.5% . Well, by this time, “lollipop” should better establish themselves in the market. Interestingly, version 5.0 lost 0.3%.

Fortunately, all authentic old varieties Android steadily reduce its stake. Even once immortal Gingerbread reduced its popularity by 0.3%. However, they promise to be more interesting statement for one and two months, when it no longer will be able to verify whether Marshmallow 6.0 will be able to quickly settle into our smartphones or tablets. May all producers have taken care of it properly.

The results of each version and summary statistics of the last month:

  • 2.2 Froyo 0.2% (vs. 0.2%)
