Before we get to the results, it is worth mentioning the change in methodology by the giant search engines. In short, instead of the data collected from Google’s servers enabled computing device, the version of the system are now collected only through Google Play (more wrote about it here ).

April’s results yielded a slight decrease in shares most popular version of Android, the Gingerbread (from 39.7% to 38.4%). Version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwitch) also recorded a decrease (from 29.3% to 27.5%). Gained and the latest version, the Jelly Bean. Shares of Android 4.1 has increased from 23% to 26.1%. Version 4.2 has improved slightly from last month’s result (from 2.0% to 2.3%).
