Smartphone market dominated by Android and iOS … – PC World

Analyst firm IDC has published a new report, which
that smartphone market is dominated by two
 Systems
and are Android and iOS , which
Last year was total share as high as
 96.3%
! According to information provided by IDC shows that
last year sold a total of 1.3 billion
 Smartphones
. It is 27.7% more than in 2013, when
 sold nearly 1.02 billion smartphones.

Of course the most popular system on the market
 Android smartphones remains
. Last year sold
nearly 1.06 billion phones that operate on the basis of the system
Google. That’s about 32% more than in 2013. So great results
resulted in improved market share (less than 3%), which
in 2014 was already 81.5%! This means that more than 4 out of 5
sold smartphones working under the control of Android.

The second place we have iOS. Last year sold
192.7 million iPhones , which is over 25% more than
a year earlier. This resulted in a market share of iOS at
14.8%. Much less than in the case of Android, but remember that
here we do not have to deal with dozens of different manufacturers, but
Only one – Apple. The Cupertino company passed the great
first of all sales in the fourth quarter of 2014
when sold 74.5 million iPhones until (including above all it was a
4.7-inch iPhone 6) and breaks all possible records.

However, despite higher sales of iPhones share iOS
 decreased in 2014
(but only 0.3%). What is
results? With a much better sales of smartphones with Android
which resulted in a greater increase in just the platform.

What about the other operating systems? On
third place we have Windows Phone
with a share of
only 2.7%. In the last year, sold less than 35 million smartphones
with Microsoft windows (of which almost all were the Lumie). This
4.2% more than in 2013, when a total of 33.5 million smartphones
Windows Phone. Then a long time nothing and Blackberry with sales of less than 6
million units. Canadians passed another weak year. Sale
Blackberry OS phones per year flew down almost
70%. Other operating systems (such as Firefox OS or
Tizen) accounted for 0.6% of the market, which translates into 7.7 million
 smartphones sold.

For more information, also on sale only in
the fourth quarter of 2014 can be found in the tables below.
