Android N can bring the greatest years of visual change in … – Spider’s Web

Trade MWC in Barcelona came to an end. All devices have been shown and though, so frankly, a bit bothered this year, observing the most important trade fair premiere, it reaches us another very interesting information that appeared somewhere in the corridors. It turns out that the latest version of Android, Android N, can bring quite a revolutionary change for the green robot.

Looking only briefly on the differences between pure Android (or some pads manufacturers) and system mobile from Apple, a very noticeable difference is already visible on the desktops of devices – that is, the presence of drawers applications in Android. Unlike iOS, pure Android does not force the user having to hold all installed applications on the desktop, but it allows you to hide the less used in the drawer applications, where we always have quick access to them, but not cluttering us to the desktop.

This is a very convenient solution, but as you know, not all manufacturers of Android devices using them. Especially Chinese manufacturers of smartphones have long since resigned from the drawer, for the endless desktop full of applications a la iOS. It is very possible that in the latest incarnation of the system Google’s Android N, also do not see the application drawer.

Android N without application drawer?

This information is reaching us from the service Android Authority, whose representatives on the sidelines at MWC heard that the first version of the latest Android are allegedly deprived of drawers applications. Somehow confirmation of these words can be taken at least three premieres Fair – LG, of course, that the cap in its flagship G5 completely resigned from the application drawer. A similar option offers … Samsung Galaxy S7, in which you can turn off the tray application to application icons directly on the desktops. Even HTC’s model X9 resigned from the drawer.

This, of course, still no confirmation, because the producers can afford to do what they want with their own versions of Android, but it is difficult not to notice that something’s up. Since several large manufacturers, who until now have consistently stuck drawers applications, suddenly one resigns (or gives you the choice), this could mean that in fact at the next Google I / O will see Android-free drawer applications.

but why Android N would be deprived of it? Here it is perhaps the key word “simplicity”. Android with each new iteration becomes more simple and transparent, offering “straight out of the box ‘experience as intuitive as iOS. Perhaps the decision to rid the drawer application is an attempt to further simplify the interface of pure Android that has become even more user-friendly, and maybe – more importantly – eventually became relatively the same regardless of the device.

Today buying Android smartphone we participate virtually in the lottery.

For every Android smartphone looks and behaves somewhat differently. Here drawer application is in the middle, there in the bottom right corner. Here, applications are arranged alphabetically, there are arranged as they wish. Of course, all this can be customized, but straight out of the box experience can be very confusing, especially for the layman. It is therefore possible that Android N is clean up this mess and make him purchase a new smartphone with Android accompanied by similar experiences, such as the purchase of the iPhone. So regardless of what the device will reach the buyer, he has to feel at home.

Personally, I do not have one fixed preference for the presence of tray application, or lack thereof. Since I utilize smartphones Huawei, which drawers applications are not complete and I miss her does not bother. Although it has much in common with a well-implemented search function device – if you need something, just that I bring finger down anywhere and you will see a search bar a la Spotlight on the iPhone. Without that finding that one particular application can sometimes be a hassle.

On the other hand drawer applications in Android Marshmallow it is now very convenient to use. The most commonly used applications appear at the top and scrolling device resources on the right shows the literka alphabet, with which we are currently.

Both solutions have their pros and cons, because in my opinion, Google is best done by giving users choice. However, if any of the forms is to be dominant and indeed Android N is to be the default deprived tray application that I am counting on the fact that Google will implement a search function that will be easy to find in the jungle stranded desktop applications.

And the fact that any change in the pure Android is not to please, always remains the use of an external launcher developer. Taking also into account the pace of adoption of new versions of Android, for a long, long time we will not have to worry about.
