If you believe the texts on the Spider’s Web in the car you have the choice of either a bad system manufacturer, or miraculous and amazing CarPlaya. But hey, maybe there’s something else? Yes, Android Auto, you just briefly (I admit, but there will still be occasions) checked.
The first connection using a USB cable – easy, but … only if you’ve been married .apk Android Auto. Officially in Poland, this solution is not available.
At the start, Google tells us where we want to go. Here – the location of the last trip and planned (but not saved!) Route from Google Maps. Smart. By the way, see that if Google wasted space on this fantastic display. Shame!
The whole is divided into three areas of navigation. At the bottom we find the first of them – five icons. Turn: navigation, connection, startup screen, multimedia and data about the car (or, as in this case, lack thereof). Maps? They look familiar.

Ok, done. I have a strange feeling that CarPlay display more information, which remained just as readable.
Time on our screen. The system almost identical to the notifications Android. Android Auto is able to read (and does it very well), among others SMS, and also allows for voice replying to. And it works great. Unfortunately, such a list of supported applications is not long. And no, I do not see nor half the message. They can be either read or nothing.
There is also no graphical marker / screen, voice dialing and answer. We ask about the weather? Google says what is or what will be. the end. it does not show anything (it’s in the picture below is a constant information.) only a microphone with a red circle informs about the active voice.
With multimedia applications (you can choose from a variety of drop-down menu) well see two other areas of the interface. In the right corner we have voice dialing, in the left – additional content applications. And they all look the same.
This is the developed side menu. Is it in Spotify, or in Deezerze or application to podcasts or audiobooks.
Even the phone is encased in the same design simple settings, and perhaps more shortcuts to the functions. Simply, clearly, pleasantly.
So there is no fear that wherever you get lost. Down – Navigation between important functions, right – voice dialing, left – more the function of the application. the end. Well done! But why waste so much space?

The simple answer is another reason. If you already know CarPlaya or Android Auto, the second of these systems seem to you almost identical. The idea is exactly the same – a smartphone and the system as a digital brain of the whole system, navigation and car entertainment. Voice as the main tool control. The screen is almost completely irrelevant, and displayed on the content limited and simplified to a minimum. No playground – maximum simplicity and maximum pulling us from the phone. Without facebook, Instagramów, Twitterów. Top calendar entries or SMS.
And each of these systems the same task is performed in almost the same way, with only cosmetic differences. Here startup screen resembles a grid application with iOS, here the screen notifications from Android with additional tabs. Here, the menu expands to click on the side, here in advance. There we see more entries, here we see them a little less. Tiny, maciupeńkie differences, which guarantees us that if we have Android or equipment from iOS – the two systems will be just as pleased.
Well, if you ignore for now trace support for external applications – these are very few and most of them are, as you might guess, applications, podcasts, music, read books and the like, or digital radio.
and how do these applications?
however, there is one major difference between the application for CarPlaya and Android Auto. CarPlay actually does not support any messaging outside of the system that supports text messaging. Android Auto while support among Skype, WhatsApp or telegram, but not as much as some of you might want.
No, you send messages to WhatsAppie and did not call us on Skype. No way. There przejrzycie a chat history. Ba, the whole menu you will not find even a trace of information on the program. Simply put, if someone you write, the notification will be displayed for Android Auto, and then (optionally) read aloud and (also optional) will be able to no voice to answer.
Interestingly, we can not for example. thus answer the call with Skype – it will be completely ignored by the Android Auto.
a support for the Polish language …
Siri in CarPlayu does not support it at all, so forget the fact that during the journey as destination eg. Bukowiec. Android Auto while doing this well, as well as with reading our SMS (Siri that it can not), the voice answering to them.
On the other hand, so it was not so beautiful, Google now the Polish working … lame. If you ask about the weather like, “Hey, Google, tell me, what will be tomorrow at my weather”, in response to hear that Now he does not know what’s going on. If you ask for it in the form of “wrocław weather tomorrow,” then I get a complete answer. Yes, you can switch the language to English, but then it will be a problem with the aforementioned, Bukowiec. No wonder, then, that Android Auto in Poland officially does not exist.

Simple – the one that fits your phone system. Full stop. The more that none of these systems is not really 100 percent. ready to work in Polish conditions.
Although I will not hide – the data from Google Now, combined with the incredibly popular in Poland Google Maps (thus giving eg. the best information on the situation on the road and the best proposals detours) seem incredibly tempting. Though probably not enough to change the phone.
The more that there are indications that Android Auto and CarPlay will be in his development went head to head – what you miss one, you will be soon completed. And so over and over again.
And well – it seems that the couple can not choose the wrong.
