This time in the spotlight was the lock screen, which, as it turns out, is not such an effective way to protect your smartphone. Representatives of the University of Texas did it fairly easy to get around. It was enough to have taken advantage of an error, which is active Camera application and the introduction of a very long string of characters in a box for administering emergency number ultimately results in unlocking the device. The above error to refer to smartphones running on Android versions from 5.0 to 5.1.1. Most likely, however, they are not exposed to it all models, but it seems that it would be safer to use a PIN or use to unlock the screen do not code, but the formula.
The good news is that the error was detected for some time ago and reported by Google. The manufacturer has developed a relevant patch, which is marked as LMY48M. This, however, has been made available so far only on smartphones with Google Nexus series.
