The market is booming mobile projectors. For several years now it is happening here quite a few relatively Philips mainly due to launching new models in the series PicoPix. Some time ago I wrote about entering ZTE also in this category of equipment. THE IFA saw quite a lot of this type of equipment, but a Chinese product captured my heart.
ZTE SPRO 2 is not the first Chinese company to approach the market for mobile projectors and it shows from the very first contact with the unit. It is hard to resist the impression that the product mature and thoughtful. The whole structure measures just 134 x 131 x 32.7 mm (weight 526 g), making the device very compact. Despite this, we managed to cram here surprisingly a lot of elements. The most important is the 5-inch 720p display, which is used to control the device. On board we find fully-fledged Android 4.4 with the overlay graphics optimized for the projector. We can therefore use the device in different ways. Especially that its parameters are not at all weak. The quad-core 2.1 GHz Snapdragon 800 not so long ago drove the fastest smartphones on the market. He is supported by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. Fortunately, the latter can be expanded via MicroSD card.
But what about the same projection? ZTE SPRO 2 can throw an image at a resolution of 1280 x 720 px (HD). Its diagonal can range from 2 to as much as 300 inches – it all depends on how far put the unit from the wall. In practice, I suspect that the best results possible 60-70 inches – with a larger diagonal, you will see a large loss of quality. The manufacturer has applied here autofocus, so the user does not have to manually adjust the focus knob. Furthermore, the device can also adjust the shape of the picture in a situation when it is set perpendicular to the wall. Forget therefore the cinema in the shape of a trapezoid. The whole is based on DLP lamp with a brightness of 200 lumens and a contrast of 5000: 1.
The applied inside the battery has a capacity of 6300 mAh and allows continuous operation for 3 hours. It is enough to watch 1-2 movies. The most interesting, the projector can also be used as POWERBANK and charge eg. Our smartphone on the go. This equipment makes it even more versatile. This is not the end. The device is also available with an LTE modem. As a result, it may not only yourself to connect to the network, but also act as a hotspot, and share Internet with other users – eg. On vacation. Of the remaining communication modules are worth mentioning: WiFi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 4.0. The projector also has USB 3.0 and HDMI, so the image can be delivered from any external source.
ZTE SPRO in fact is not an absolute novelty, because for some time now sell the American operators (AT & amp; T and Verizon). The important news is however, that we will see him in Poland and it later this year. Best of all, it will be a version with LTE modem. I must admit that I am very enthusiastic about this release. Unfortunately scares me the price. Spro 2 has already appeared in several stores in presale, where it was valued at 3.9 thousand. respectively. I’ve never pay so much for a mobile projector with Android.
