Android 6.0 Marshmallow only 0.7 percent. devices – Virtual Poland

  Google announced it had market shares of their respective versions of Android. Well, as usual we do not see any great reason to be proud.
 
 
 

 For years, the big problem of Android is its deeper fragmentation, although it is worth remembering that this is due also from the specific market situation. If you compare Android to Apple’s mobile system (which sensationally solved the issue of system updates for older devices), it would only be directly equivalent to branded Google Nexus device in the series – and these updated real fast.
 
 

 
 By contrast, most phones and tablets Android is produced by an independent company from Google and their software typically includes additional overlays and functions, and therefore requires manufacturers to develop its own new version of the system. And this can be very different – really only a few, top models the most important manufacturers in general can count on an upgrade.
 
 

 
 The result of this state of affairs are the statistics, which once again showcased Google. Details presented in the following table and graph, but it needs at least another brief comment. First of all shocking by the fact that approximately 3 months after the debut of the latest version of Android (6.0 Marshmallow) use it only 0.7 per cent. devices. Such a situation for Apple devices would be unthinkable, but remember that it does not depend only from Google, but from independent producers.
 
 

 
 Anyway, the number of devices using the latest Android slowly growing, but still rapidly growing number of devices that use previous versions of KitKat. Indeed, this coincides with what we observe with surprise the market: many new smartphones with Android 5.1 makes its debut Lollipop on board, and not the latest 6.0 Marshmallow. This situation can change only after the fair MWC 2016, but even that is not certain.
 
 

 In any case, Android 5.0 and 5.1 are already present on almost one third of all smarftonów and tablets with this system – in total is 32.6 percent. But Android dominates Thursday generation: KitKat (36.1 per cent. Devices), Jelly Bean (a total of 24.7 per cent.) And even older Ice Cream Sandwich (2.7 percent.).
