The most recent statistics released by Google on the Android Developers blog, which cover a period of one week to 4 January 2016., shows that 36.1 per cent. active devices based on Android is currently under the control of the system in version 4.4 (KitKat).
KitKat in the last month lost 0.5 points. percent. share, while Android 5.0 and 5.1 (Lollipop) won 32.6 per cent. share, a result of 3.1 points. percent. better than at the beginning of December.
The declines recorded earlier versions: 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 Jelly Bean4 (from 26.9 per cent. to 24.7 per cent.), Ice Cream Sandwich (with 2.9 percent . to 2.7 per cent.) and 2.3 Gingerbread (from 3.4 per cent. to 3 per cent.).
In contrast, the latest for Android – 6.0 (Marsmallow) – so far only managed to gain 0.7 percent. share, a result by 0.2 percentage points. percent. better than last month.
