Remix OS, amazing Android desktops available on … – Antyweb

Remember RemixOS? The system I wrote a year ago. Then at CES it appeared the device that is a clone of Microsoft Surface and fitted precisely in such a modified Android. Now the man behind the startup Jide promises to make it available on PC and Mac.

During this year the project has evolved. The creators, however, clung to the original idea. The result is a desktop Android – literally. The whole system is based on the Android-x86, which is already two years developed on open source. User Interface nothing but Android does not like. In this respect Remix OS is unique and one of a kind. The applications are run in the windows here, we have the classic file manager, taskbar, menus – virtually all designed in the style of Windows. Of course, complemented by support for mouse and keyboard. Interestingly, still we can use widgets.
