The natural course of things is progressively gaining popularity the newer versions of the system by which the latest statistics of the market shares of each edition of Android rather should not surprise anyone.
KitKat still reigns with 36.6% of the shares, immediately after we lollipop with 29.5%, and the podium closes the Jelly Bean of 26.9%. Detailed distribution of Android is as follows:
- KitKat (4.4) 36.6%
- Lollipop: 29.5% (5.0 16.3% 5.1: 13.2%) – an increase of 25.6% compared to the previous month
- Jelly Bean: 26.9% (4.1.x 10% 4.2.x 13%, 4.3: 3 9%)
- Gingerbread (2.3.3-2.3.7): 3.4%
- Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.3-4.0.4): 2, 9%
- Froyo (2.2) 0.2%
- Marshmallow (6.0) 0.5% (an increase of 0.3% compared to the previous month).
Now that the latest versions of Android users record growth, thanks to the (not so many) updates of mobile devices, the other must lose. Marshmallow grew from 0.3% to 0.5%, while Lollipop – from 25.6% to 29.5% – in the next month should reach 1/3 of the market share of Android. The decline recorded KitKat, but not particularly violent – from 37.8% to 36.6%, Jelly Bean – from 29% to 26.9%, Ice Cream Sandwich – from 3.3% to 2.9% and Gingerbread – 3 8% to 3.4%.
A Froyo still closing rate. I wonder how much longer must we watch this version of Android popularity in statements …
